Please read the thoughts of this work.
We want you to carry the future with your dreams and aspirations.
Why were you born in this time?
Why were you born as children of your parents?
Why were you born in your country?
I think this way.
It is because heaven has given you the best environment in which you can fulfill your dreams and "Kokorozashi".
What are you living for?
We hope you will clarify it and live for yourself and for society.
In Japan, we have been "Setting Kokorozashi" for more than 1,000 years.
"Kokorozashi" means that your dreams must be accompanied by a social dimension.
We want you to make "Kokorozashi" not only for yourself but also for society.
This animation conveys that message.

"Kokorozashi" is similar to Ikigai, but with more conviction.
We made this animation so that even children can easily understand it.
We created this book in the hope that it will help people grasp "Kokorozashi" and take a step toward a better society and a better life.

I really like it. I makes me re-think about myself as well. The art is awesome. I can relate to the characters. It makes me think more about myself and my personality.
Oscar (Wisdom)
I think it’s good because it’s interesting to read. My soul is wisdom!
Connor (Wisdom)
Personally, for me, it’s a tad repetitious. I’m someone who reads/sees the negative. There are 100+ pages of the protagonist asking the doctor ‘what’s this?’ .
The main characters have predictable personalities. Nabiko doesn’t have much impact on the story, mainly it’s cute.
Isobel (Courage)
It’s pretty good! It’s more interesting as a manga with the pictures and story giving an important message. I like that it has real life content and isn’t just a fantasy.
Heidi (Courage)
It’s long but good that it can be broken into chapters with reflection questions at the end of each chapter. Otherwise it sometimes seems a little repetitive.
Chantelle (Wisdom)
It’s kind of like our lives now. I don’t read books but I can skim through this.
Ben (Love)
It makes me think about my personality and how my family all did the same thing at university. They are pushing me to do the same but I want to do something different. This manga looks at that.

Impressions from children who read this book
The manga is interesting and slushy to read, and I think you will understand it better by reading it many times.
The part, "When you find the strongest of the four souls, you will find what you are looking for in life."
I was impressed by this part.
I understood that a dream is something you do for yourself and an aspiration is something you do for others.
I thought that when I try to do something not only for myself but also for others, I feel extraordinarily powerful.
The part about writing a climbing chart of your life and your aspirations made a great impression on me.
I think you should read this cartoon text when your grades are falling and try to read it again and again because it gives you the feeling to do your best and it is very important.
I enjoyed the page about seeing the four souls of those close to you. It was very interesting to see the difference between the person's four souls that I thought I had and the four souls that the other person had.
I hope you will read this book many times because it is very useful to think deeply about aspirations instead of dreams, and you can use it to check what you are studying for.
I hope you will read this manga many times, as it will encourage you when you are depressed or having a hard time achieving results in your exam studies.
I was impressed by the part, "Dreams are for yourself, but "Kokorozashi" are for someone else, for everyone." In this manga, each page has an worksheet, and you can find out who you are now by reading it. Since it is a comic book, it is easy to read, so I hope you will give it a try.
As you read it, you will gradually become more energetic. Even if you can't read thick books, you will enjoy reading this comic book.
This comic is very enjoyable.
Even if you don't like to study, you can enjoy reading it because it is a comic book.
Comments from foreigners who have read this book
A very powerful, moving, and humanistic manga about the Japanese concept of "Kokorozashi", it makes readers think about what they pursue in life.
The manga format, jokes, and storytelling style make the work very easy to read and understand for teenagers.
Through the concept of the "four souls," readers can better understand themselves and others and realize the importance of "Kokorozashi".
I wish I had read this book when I was 12 years old.
Barbora Ševčíková from Czech Republic
This book is the first of its kind.
This manga book teaches deep and meaningful wisdom and scientifically based "heart-to-heart" knowledge.
Readers can also become a part of this book by doing the worksheets provided and reflecting on themselves with each turn of the page.
This is a book that you will want to read, feel, think about, and return to again and again.
Tang Thi Huong from Vietnam
I enjoyed this comic very much because it was easy to read. The characters were approachable and friendly, and I felt that the reader could participate in the story. And I strongly felt that by introducing a serious topic for the future, such as aspiration, in an easy-to-understand way, and having the reader solve a fun workshop, the reader will certainly grow to envision the future.
I think many people think that "Kokorozashi" is just like dreams. After reading this manga, I, for the first time, can distinguish between these two concepts.
I believe that "setting kokorozashi" is truly a way to realize one's own value, one's own specialness, and to gain self-confidence.
The manga is very interesting and well done.
I think this cartoon is a great resource for teaching young people about emotions and desires. And the worksheet teaches them well about who they are.
My four souls were "courage". I am glad to know this.
Łukasz Szczęsny from Poland
Overall, it is easy to understand as a guide to finding one's aspirations. The flow of the stream is simple and easy to follow.

What do you want to work for in the future?
The answers to these questions are inside your own heart.
Noble intensions sit quietly in the deepest part of your heart.
The "Kokorozashi" Co-Learning project aims to help people become aware of this, and to guide them to decide what to do with their lives.
In the early 21st century, we are living in an age where the beauty of our planet is rapidly deteriorating.
We have fewer forests, the water is becoming polluted, and the number of species is decreasing dramatically.
And although humans have become richer in a material sense, we are losing sight of important things like our sense of purpose in life.
Through the words found in this "Kokorozashi" Manga, you will experience the beauty that's deep within your heart and those of your friends, giving you a chance to discover your purpose in life.
In this critical day in age in the 21st century when we face grave risks to humanity, would you join us in making the world a beautiful place again and create happiness together for all people, by embarking on a fulfilling, challenging, and creative life journey?
